Intro to the DL

Join us online for an Introduction to the Digital Lounge! Meet the DL team and learn all about Adobe Creative Cloud, classes, tutorials, and support resources available to you at the Annenberg Digital Lounge during the Spring semester.

We’ll also be answering all your questions about the online tools we’re using for classes and how we can all stay connected remotely.

Introduction to WordPress

Tues 2/9, 10am-12pm & Weds 3/24 3-5pm | Instructor: Josh Logan

WordPress is the most popular online publishing platform, giving users a quick and easy way to set up a website and create a home for their content online. In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of setting up your site, how to add media and create blog posts, and where to discover customizable templates to make your site your own. We’ll also walk you through the WordPress Dashboard so you can manage your content and maintain your site once it has gone live.

By the end of this workshop, you’ll be able to do the following:

-Create and set up a WordPress site
-Know the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org sites
-Create pages, blog posts, categories, and tags
-Find new themes and customize their design
-Utilize plugins, social media widgets, and advanced settings

Microsoft Teams/Office 365 Refresh

Fri 2/12, 1-2pm & Mon 2/22, 1-2pm & Fri 2/26, 1-2pm & Wed 3/17, 10-11am & Mon 3/22, 1-2pm & Fri 3/26, 1-2pm| Instructor: Josh Logan

Need a Teams/Office 365 refresher? Choose one of three offered sessions to participate in! We’ll go over navigating Teams, utilizing cloud storage, and workflow between apps among other things.

This workshop is geared towards faculty and staff.

The Magic of Compositing in Photoshop

Tues 2/23, 3-5pm & Weds 2/24, 11am-1pm | Instructor: Erika Gomi

Have you ever wanted to seamlessly combine several rad images but don’t know how? Then this workshop is the one for you! We’ll be using Photoshop to composite different images together to create a new unique one (and you won’t even be able to tell that it was Photoshopped).

We’ll go over selections tools, masking, adjustment layers, and blending layers. If you have a project you’re working on or are about to start on, please bring it so we can go over it and walkthrough it together.

Google Analytics for Beginners

Tues 3/30, 1-3pm | Instructor: Josh Logan

Since everything is online now, it is very important to understand your audience and set up a strategy for the success of your website. This is where Google Analytics comes in.

Google Analytics provides you with free tools to track and analyze data about visitors on your websites. This workshop will walk you through how to create an account, implement tracking code, set up data filters, goals and campaign tracking, and analyze basic Audience, Acquisition, and Behavior reports.

This is the first workshop in a three part series that will lead up to the preparation of taking the Google Analytics Individual Qualification Exam.

Advanced Google Analytics

Tues 4/6, 1-3pm | Instructor: Josh Logan

This second workshop will walk you through how data gets collected and processed into readable reports and how to use configurations such as Custom Dimensions and Event Tracking to collect data. We will also go over more advanced analysis techniques using segmentation, channel reports, and audience reports.

This is the second workshop in a three part series that will lead up to the preparation of taking the Google Analytics Individual Qualification Exam.

Google Analytics Individual Qualification Exam

Tues 4/13, 1-3pm | Instructor: Josh Logan

This final workshop will prepare you to take the Google Analytics Individual Qualification Exam. We will go over what we learned in the previous two workshops, like planning and principles, implementation and data collection, configuration and administration, conversion and attribution, and reports, metrics, and dimensions.
