AIGA Design Conference 2019

Mark your calendars! The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) is holding its annual design conference in Pasadena from April 4-6, 2019. This will be the first time in years that the conference has come to Los Angeles. These three days present a prime opportunity for new designers to meet industry professionals, as well as discover new skills in the multifaceted design field. Activities include workshops, roundtables, portfolio reviews, and a variety of symposia. Many prolific speakers will also attend the conference. Roman Mars, host of the podcast 99% Invisible; Françoise Mouly, Art Director of The New Yorker; and Kat Holmes, Director of UX Design at Google, are just a few.

The overarching theme of this year’s conference is “Culture.” AIGA Conference Chair Ashleigh Axios states that designers “have the power to impact many other cultures, whether those are workplaces, like clients, industries, communities, a nation, or an international population. But…to maximize the positive impact we can make on others, we need to spend time, share space, relay stories, and dare to dream big with one another.”

Axios’s collaborative vision will inspire a new wave of designers next April.
